A Little Hello

Friends, I have been neglecting two of my blogs for long because of my busy schedules. Cooking is one of my passions and when ever I get time I experiment in the kitchen. But during the past few months, with busy schedules, lots of travelling, I was under lot of stress and near to a break down. I could hardly rustle out a proper meal. Even now I feel burn out and need lots of rest. But I am recovering.

That means I will be more active in the kitchen, experimenting new ones, lots of pickling and other things. I have also promised myself this New Year that I would be concentrating on my blogs especially these two which I have been neglecting. It is a promise from me to you too....

But do drop in your comments, requests and suggestions...for there is nothing like your comments which motivate me to share with you more....

So watch out for yummy, recipes, easy recipes, healthy recipes and lots more.....

A Beautiful Film on bloging

When ever I am away on my work, I don't get much sleep in new surroundings. I have lots of free time in the evenings and night. I am used to a very hectic schedule most of the time and some times having nothing to do is really depressive. Any way I do try out some embroidery, or creating new designs for embroidery and Rangolis, or read a book.

I end up listening to the TV. Having it on is like having someone in my room and this continues till I doze off. Mostly I prefer music or programs on travel or on discovery, animal planet etc. But at times it is really difficult to find something worth viewing.

One of those times I was flicking through the channels and settled rather frustratedly to watch a movie. That movie turned out to be very interesting and I just kept on following it till the last.

It was a film on bloging. The film was "Julie and Julia". It is a contrast between two women from different times- both interested in cooking. The first one is Julia Child a Chef very much devoted to cooking and her life in Paris during 1950s. She joins Le Cordon Bleu   to learn the French Cooking. She masters it with much enthusiasm and  then wants to write a cook book in English fo American house wives. It shows how she struggles to translate from French to English, how she experiments and masters each recipe or course  and how she struggles to bring the first volume of the  book in 1960s and second one in 1970s.  She becomes very popular with  TV shows. Her books become one of the most popular ones.

Much later  in 2002, Julie Powell, a young writer, living in New York and doing a job which she doesn't like wants to cook all the 500 and recipes of Julia Child's Book in an year. She describes her trials and tribunals, successes and failures with her project on her blog. She becomes so obsessive about her project and also her blog. She craves for the readers, responses, their appreciations and this leads to a lot of stress. Her husband is very supportive, he keeps on motivating her and tells her she should enjoy her project and bloging and should not get stressed out because of that. But in the end, unable to cope up with her obsession he leaves her. Oh he comes back after a short while. Her blog is written about in The New York Times and other media follow her. She too becomes popular.

I loved every minute of the film. I found so many similarities to what I feel and what I go through with my cooking and especially my bloging...:). Like Julie Powell I too became obsessive with my blog at one time and also wanted appreciation of the readers and following. I became more stressed out as I have to balance my home and my work-both very hectic and lots of responsibilities. Then I took time out and thought out it all. after all I was bloging for fun, to share my knowledge with others, enjoy it to forget stress of home and work places. Then I found my peace. Many a time the most talented also don't get recognition so easily or sometimes not at all no matter how they struggle. So I could perfectly understand Julie's feelings and empathise with her.

Just watch the movie-so beautifully made. I loved the 1950, their living, how they cooked how they shopped for the ingredients. Wow! Just watch it and let me know...:)

Authentic Andhra Cusine

I am so busy these days travelling around so much that I have practically little time to catch up with my chores at home. I am also not able to post much on tow of my blogs, including this. I feel frustrated at times that I am not able to share with you all so many things, like recipes, Tips-health, beauty and nutrition and much more. Cooking is one of my passions and these days I don't have much time to cook a proper meal, leave alone experimenting for new recipes or creating something new. But then that is life.

On my recent visits to some of the interior places of Andhra Pradesh, I was lucky enough to interact and collect some very authentic recipes. I am eager to share them with you. But what stops me is that unless I cook and have some pictures, it may not be easy you to follow it. Any way I will still try to post giving step by step in detail.

Just keep a watch on my blog...Many recipes to be shared with you all...

Its Raining

Its raining here cats and dogs..but I think I should add elephants and whales perhaps..:) It rained heavily and just now has stopped near my place but it might still be raining in other parts of the city. Boy I had a tough time getting back home. But I was one of the lucky few who reached home safely when the rain stopped to a manageable drizzle for some time. Most of the low lying areas are inundated and many have knee deep water in their homes. Poor things! I just hope they would be all right. There are so many vehicles stuck in traffic jams. Many places dont have power too.

Many of the places don't have the power now due to damaged lines or tree falls. Near my place the voltage is fluctuating. So I can't keep the system on for long. Sorry folks will post tomorrow.

Bye Take care... Good Night....

Independence Day

Wishing all my brothers and sisters a very Happy Independence Day belatedly on the occasion of Independence Day on 15th August...

Oh by the way I am sorry friends that I am not able to post at all in this blog and also not much on my other blog. The reason is that this year we are having very good rains, almost continuously. Sometimes for days together. When it rains heavily, there is also wind. There are power failures as well as shut downs to avoid any mishaps due to the forceful winds, uprooting of trees which affect the power lines. Also during that time there will be high fluctuation in the power supply which may damage our computers and other appliances.
So I dare not switch on my computer for long.

Any way now that the rains have eased a little bit, I will be posting regularly. Please do bear with me.
Keep watching......

Hi friends!

Hmmm its been a long time since I posted here. I am busy with my work and just dint have the energy to write up a post. For, witting recipes is not an easy task. That is how I feel. And I write most of them from memory. Moreover after working long hours on a computer, one does not feel like working on it at home too. Right?

But I have so many things to share with you. I also cannot disappoint my friends....So here I am back again....

I am Back

Sorry friends have been away for long. Been busy at work place and dint have much energy to post anything on my blog, though I had lots of recipes with me. The problem is to have visuals to go with them. For that I need to try them out and them photograph them. Then there is the process of fitting them to blog and then finally writing the recipe. It takes some time and any disturbance in between..I loose the thread...But am back and will be posting lots of recipes..visuals or no visuals...
One more irritating factor is usually by this time we have our markets flooded with lots of vegetables and fruits. But this year because of natural calamities and other man made ones, we are not able to get all the seasonal vegetables. Either they are not at all available or available but the quality is not good, apart from the prohibitive prices. This happens when one does not think of environmental and other issues and lands especially agricultural lands are usedmindlessly for constructing, residential complexes or other industrial purposes.
As is it is finding land which is rich enough for agriculture is very difficult. Even when one finds it there are other issues of water facilities, what type of crops can be grown etc. Some crops like rice etc require fertile lands and continuous supply of water. Some like cherries, apples require cold climate, where as some require hot of sunshine and humidity. God has bestowed India with a rare boon -a variety of climatic conditions allow a variety of crops to grow here. But then one should be grateful for that and see that this advantage is not lost.
Any way I will be sharing with you lots of recipes...So keep watching...

Recipes

Hello!
I have been busy during these last few days, and could not post any recipes as yet.

But I am going to shortly. What I would like to do is post recipes of course but would also like to discuss our spices and condiments and local produce, our traditional methods of cooking so that my friends across the seas would get to know more. My only problem would be that I don't have enough of pictures to go with my posts and I cannot cook many dishes at once to get the pictures. Any way i am trying to tackle that issue as best as I can.
